A serious practice that runs like a family business.

We run our own laboratory, handle our own billing, build our own software, and answer our own calls. City-hospital expertise, small-town attention.

Our purpose

Texas Pathology Group exists to make things better for people.

Our purpose is to connect individuals with the information necessary to live the best life possible. Every member of our team lives this purpose, as it drives us to provide accurate, timely and clinically relevant diagnostic services to the patients, physicians and facilities we have the privilege to serve.

To fulfill that purpose, team members are selected for their empathy and their care for others. We take pride in delivering requested and necessary information clearly and respectfully, meeting those we serve where they are, and connecting them with what they need to make the best decisions possible.

We actively engage with hospital medical staff and medical departments to ensure that opportunities for improvement are identified and resolved. Our pathologists forge personal relationships with local physicians, so that patient care is the best possible today and even better tomorrow.

Independent by choice Physician-owned, not a division of a national laboratory. A member of the Independent Pathology Practice Network. A report you trust, from people you know.
How we work

Four commitments we are willing to be measured against.

1 Somebody’s name is on every report A diagnosis is a piece of writing, and a physician is accountable for every word of it. You will always know who read the case.
2 We answer before we are chased Most calls into a laboratory are asking where a case is. We would rather the report arrive first — so we report cases quickly and get results back while they still change what happens next.
3 We are selected for empathy Team members are chosen for their care for others as much as their credentials. We deliver necessary information clearly and respectfully, meeting people where they are.
4 We stay in the room Our physicians sit on the medical staff committees where laboratory decisions are made, so problems are raised and resolved rather than escalated and forgotten.
Where we practice

Embedded in the hospitals we serve.

Our physicians are not visitors. They hold laboratory directorships, chair departments, and sit on the medical staff committees where laboratory decisions are actually made.
